Ministry Workers Empty Ministry Workers

Minister/Madam of Magic (1): The leader of the wizarding world in the United Kingdom and the highest ranking member of the Ministry of Magic, which he controls. The position somewhat corresponds to the Prime Minister of British Muggles.

Deputy Minister/Madam of Magic (1): Will assist the Minister or Madam. If the Minister passes away or is unable to do his or her job, the then Deputy will take his or her place until a new Minister if elected.

Administrative Staff (5): These wizards and witches hold positions of distinction with direct access to the Minister. Thus, it is likely that these positions are high in the hierarchy of the Ministry and are separate from the chain of command that runs from the Minister through the Heads of Department to the average Ministry employee.


Department of Law Enforcment
Description: The Department of Magical Law Enforcement is the largest department at the Ministry of Magic. Arguably the most important of the various departments, it is a combination of police and justice facilities.
Head of Department (1):
Auror (5): A highly trained, specialist officers who investigate crimes involving the Dark Arts and apprehend Dark Wizards.

Department of Intoxicating Substances Worker (3): A sub-division of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, and is responsible for making regulations on the consumption of alcoholic beverages.

Improper Use of Magic Worker (3): This office, the Improper Use of Magic Office, punishes violations of the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy. This includes underage witches and wizards intentionally using magic, which suggests that this office may be in charge of the Trace, permitting them to monitor the magic used by those under the age of seventeen.

Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Worker (3): This office regulates the use of magic on Muggle objects and confiscates those which have been illegally bewitched. One of the laws they enforce is the prohibition on magically altering a Muggle vehicle with the intent to fly it.

Hit Wizard (4): Hit Wizards comprise a team of highly trained wizards tasked with arresting dangerous criminals.

Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes
Description: Is responsible for repairing accidental magical damage.
Head of Department(1):
Accidental Magic Reversal Squad (4): An organised team of wizards and witches whose job it is to correct mistakes in magic, such as spells or potions gone wrong.

Obliviator Headquarters (4): The Obliviator Headquarters is the main office for Obliviators, wizard who have the task of modifying the memory of a Muggle after witnessing incidents caused by magic.

Muggle-Worthy Excuse Committee (3): This committee invents excuses for the Muggle community for any magical accidents or occurrences which cannot be magically cleared up or completely obliviated. Thus, the commitee will inform the Muggles comunity with any kind of non-magical excuses for the accidents.

Department of Magical Transportation
Description: The Department of Magical Transportation is responsible for various aspects of magical transport.
Head of Department (1):
Floo Network Authority (1): The Floo Network Authority is responsible for setting up and maintaining the network. They also regulate the distribution of Floo powder.

Broom Regulatory Control (1): The Broom Regulatory Control has the authority to determine what factors allow an individual to use and ride a broom.

Portkey Office (1): The Portkey Office regulates and authorizes objects that are turned into portkeys as well as the network in which they are used. This would be slightly similar to the Floo Network Authority.

Apparition Test Centre (1): The Apparition Test Centre grants Apparition licences to qualified witches and wizards. One must be 17 to obtain such a licence.

Department of Magical Games and Sports
Description: The Department of Magical Games and Sports is a department of the Ministry of Magic. It is charged with the regulation of all sport-related events in the Wizarding world.

Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures
Description: The Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures is the second largest Department in the Ministry of Magic. It is divided into three divisions named after the three categorisations of magical creatures: Being, Beast and Spirit. It also houses the liaison offices for Goblins and Centaurs.
Head of Department (1):
Beast, Being and Spirit Divisions (6): Deals with Beasts, Beings, and Spirits.

Department of International Magical Cooperation
Description: The Department of International Magical Cooperation is a division of the Ministry of Magic which, as its name suggests, tries to get wizards from different countries to cooperate. The British seats on the International Confederation of Wizards are based here, as are offices that regulate international magical law.

Department of Mysteries
Description: The Department of Mysteries is a section of the Ministry of Magic that carries out confidential research. Most of its operations are carried out in total secrecy. Few wizards within the Ministry actually know what is located within this department, though it is learned that the various mysteries of the world are studied there: these include love, space, thought, time, death, and others. Those wizards who work in the Department of Mysteries are known as Unspeakables because of the confidential nature of their work.

Wizemagot
Description: The Wizengamot is wizarding Britain's high court of law and parliament. It may be a continuation of the old Wizards' Council. Its administrative headquarters is located in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement of the Ministry of Magic. At least some of its trials take place in the dungeons of the lower levels.
